BEGINNER DRIVING ADVANCED SEMINAR
After you receive your driving license, your two-year probationary period begins, during which you have to prove your driving skills.
If you become conspicuous for a serious traffic violation or even two less serious offenses during this time, the responsible administrative authority will order you to take part in an advanced seminar, also known as an ASF course. This seminar must be completed at a recognized driving school. In the case of offenses involving alcohol or drugs, a special advanced seminar is ordered.
The authority sets a deadline for participation in an advanced seminar, usually 8 weeks. If you cannot provide a certificate of participation within this period, you risk having your driving license revoked.
STRUCTURE OF THE SEMINAR
During an advanced seminar, the participants' individual anomalies are analyzed and ways are worked out together on how future traffic violations can be avoided.
A typical advanced seminar is structured as follows:
- 4 theory units, each lasting 135 minutes.
- A 30-minute driving test (without an examiner) between the first and second theory unit, followed by a 15-minute debriefing.
The theory units are usually spread over a period of two weeks. You can find the exact schedule on our registration page.
Note: Our courses have a minimum number of participants of 6 people and a maximum number of participants of 12 people.
AIM OF THE ADVANCED SEMINAR
The main goal of an advanced seminar is for participants to reflect on their driving behavior and increase their risk awareness in road traffic in order to no longer provoke dangerous situations.
This is achieved by solving tasks, working on specific topics in pairs and small groups, and moderated group conversations and discussions. Participants also receive an accompanying booklet with information, working materials and tasks, some of which have to be completed between sessions.
During the driving test, it is examined in which situations the novice drivers behave unsafely or inappropriately. The driver, seminar leader and passengers then exchange their impressions.
CONSEQUENCES OF FAILURE TO PARTICIPATE
Anyone who does not take part in an ordered advanced seminar within the set deadline risks having their driving license revoked. The driving license can only be issued again once the certificate of participation is presented to the authorities.
An advanced seminar that has been started must be completed in its entirety. Parts of the seminar, including the driving test, cannot be rescheduled at a later date in another seminar. This is because the sessions build on one another and the seminar leader can set different focuses depending on the participants' questions and contributions. This enables individual adaptation of the follow-up training.
